Spied: 2013 Range Rover at the Nurburgring

New spy photos show the 2013 Range Rover out testing on the Nurburgring.
Just a couple of days ago we received some fresh spy shots of the next generation Range Rover. That mule looked like it was driving in warm and dry weather conditions. And now some new images show a prototype making its way around the famed Nurburgring. Codenamed L405, the next Range Rover appears to be in the final engineering stage. As we reported earlier, the new model has taken styling cues from the recently launched Evoque with its lower roofline and even a longer wheelbase.

This increase will allow more space for rear seat passengers along with a better overall ride. Other styling details are still well hidden underneath the heavy camouflage, but we do know that the current model's engine options will carry over including the naturally-aspirated and supercharged 5.0-liter V8s. There'll also most likely be two new turbodiesel engines with an output ranging between 260hp to 510hp. Looking ahead even further after its initial launch, Land Rover will also be unveiling a diesel-electric hybrid version that could offer up to 33mph. The new Range Rover is expected to debut in the fall of 2012 as a 2013 model.
