Official 2012 Porsche 911 Photos Are Out

The official photos of the 2012 Porsche 911 show the classic car maintains its classic design, albeit with a few new twists on the front and rear.
The 2012 Porsche 911 has officially been released on the internet. Photos are everywhere of the car in all its posed and uncovered glory. Like all the 911s before it, it looks relatively the same with some new designs and a 2-inch longer length. LED running lamps adorn the front along with newly-revised air intakes. A new fog-light package and some Cayenne-inspired grille openings finish the changes on the front of the 911.

The internally designated-991 rear features thinner taillights much like the 997. The interior of the new 911 takes its cues from the Panamera. The only serious notable change is the more downward-facing center console. Porsche's signature multi-gauge cluster remains. The standard 2012 Carrera runs a 3.4-liter direct-injected flat-six-cylinder engine that can churn out 350hp and 280lb-ft of torque. The Carrera S sports a direct-injected 3.8-liter motor that cranks out 400hp. This is by far the most advanced version of Porsche's classic flat-six.
Both engines are coupled with either a seven-speed manual or PDK dual-clutch transmission. Launch control options are also available. The 2012 911 is set to debut at the 2011 Frankfurt International Auto Show in September.
