Report: Audi A6 Hybrid Coming To the U.S.

Audi has confirmed that they will be launching both hybrid and diesel versions of the A6 sedan in the US sometime in 2012.

Audi had refused to confirm that the A6 hybrid will be coming to the U.S. market. That was until now. According to Car and Driver, there is now confirmation that the German automaker will in fact be offering the A6 hybrid to American customers. Under the hood, power comes from an 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to an electric motor that produces a combined output of 245hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic will be standard. This setup is identical to the European version.

The Audi A6 hybrid will make its way to the U.S. sometime in 2012, just as when Audi plans on introducing a 3.0 TDI diesel version that will churn out 250 horses. Pricing for both the hybrid and diesel A6 will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $55,000.
