24 Hours of Spa: Mercedes-Benz Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3

Kenneth Heyer plans to follow in his father's footsteps during the 24 Hours of Spa with his Mercedes-Benz Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3.

Like father like son. That's what Kenneth Heyer is preparing to do, to follow in his father's footsteps. It was 40 years ago that Hans Heyer recorded a victory with his Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8-liter AMG at the 24 Hours of Spa back in 1971. Now, his son Kenneth prepares to join his father down the same path of victory at the coveted event. The only difference is that Kenneth will be driving a much faster car. He will be behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3.

The SLS AMG GT3 will resemble the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG with a more modern look. In homage to his father, Kenneth will have the number 35 painted on his car. There will be a total of seven SLS AMG GT3's competing at the 24 Hours of Spa. The SLS AMG GT3 has a 6.3-liter V8 that will help Kenneth by producing over 600 horses, more than his father had back in his championship winning days. The 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place from July 30th to July 31st 2011 in Belgium. Kenneth can be sure that his father will be watching and proudly cheering his son on.
