Rumor: New BMW F30/F32 M3

Rumor has it that the BMW M3 will rock a tri-turbo 3.3-liter 6-cylinder. The output is an impressive 450hp coupled with a mixed steel/crbon fiber chassis to keep its weight down.

The rumors have been abound concerning the power system of the next BMW M3. Well its turns out that the latest and most accurate rumor yet is that the new and powerful M3 will in fact feature a tri-turbo 3.3-liter 6-cylinder engine. One of the turbos will be powered by exhaust gas. The output could be an impressive 450hp and is coupled with a mixed steel/carbon fiber chassis to keep its weight down. This powerful combo should make for a pretty fast ride.

This is in comparison to the current M3 which has a 4.0-liter V8 that puts out 414hp and 295 lb/ft of torque. It can sprint from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph. BMW M's division head Dr. Friedrich Nitschke revealed the following to Autoexpress regarding the next generation M3: "There will be a bigger focus on very low fuel consumption, the new M3 will prove this." Obviously Nitschke is being vague for now, so we'll just have to wait and see what the permformance division has planned. The new car is due in to arrive sometime in 2014.
