Rumor: Hyundai Supercar In The Works

The latest gossip is that South Korean automaker Hyundai is planning a supercar that is already in the works. If the proposed supercar gets the green light, it is expected to fetch a price tag somewhere in the neighborhood of $80,000-$100,000.

There are rumors circulating that the South Korean automaker, Hyundai will be working on a supercar aimed to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, BMW 650i, Nissan GT-R, Jaguar XK and both 911 and Cayman belonging to Porsche. The rumored Hyundai supercar would be a coupe and derive its power from the new all-aluminum 5.0-liter V8 used in the Genesis R-Spec and Equus sedans. The Genesis R-Spec boasts a performance of 429hp and 376 lb-ft of torque.

You can most likely expect a nice boost if the supercar gets released. The supercar would also come equipped with an iPad owner's manual including pick-up and delivery when the supercar needs servicing. The same service is also offered with the Equus. It is unclear what Hyundai will use for a transmission, as neither their manual or automated manual transmissions would work for a setup such as this.
