Mugen Goes All Out To Give The Honda Fit Shuttle Some Pizazz

The Japan-only Honda Fit Shuttle gets a little help from Mugen who aims to target a younger demographic. As in past models, there are some that are hits in Japan that just don't find an audience in the US.

Whenever we look at the Honda Fit Shuttle, we usually associate it with a rather dull and non-colorful appearance. Mugen aims to change that. The Fit Shuttle, which is only available in Japan, will be getting some "cool" features to give the family hauler a more modern and appealing look for a younger group of customers. Mugen has included an aero kit which features a front bumper with optional LED fog lights and a rear apron that gives room for a high-performance tailpipe.

Mugen then added a new grille with an illuminated logo, side skirts, roof spoiler, and a carbon fiber mirror cap. There's a choice of either 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels available in several designs. Mugen also offers a sport exhaust system, sport air filters, a lowered suspension kit with high-performance brakes to help with a supposed sportier look. The Fit Shuttle is a slightly taller, larger and more practical version of the Fit. The Fit Shuttle has a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine that gives an ouput of 120hp. A hybrid version is also available with a 1.3-liter i-VTEC engine.

Mugen clearly plans to target the younger Japanese generation demographic for its latest tuning kit. We could see this being successful in Japan (remember, they love the Nissan Cube), but we're sort of split as to whether there could be US or European interest. There is no word yet on pricing.
