Unveiled: Aston Martin V12 Vantage Zagato

Aston Martin has just revealed the new V12 Vantage Zagato, which is the result of a reborn relationship between the British automaker and the Milanese design house. The partnership between the two companies dates back 50 years and it's the first time the two have collaborated since 2002 with the DB7 Vantage Zagato. Revealed at the Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este on the shore of Lake Como in Italy, the new car is based on the already amazing V12 Vantage.

It has a handcrafted aluminum body that has influences from nearly 100 years of design heritage. A double-bubble roof, Zagato's signature feature, is included along with more muscle flanks and a large vent with the Zagato logo. The rear end has been redesigned to include a large diffuser assembly. Power comes from the familiar 6.0-liter V12 with 510hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Top speed is 190 mph. Painted in a dark shade of orange, a decision regarding production yet to be made.
Aston Martin stated that public reaction to the car will be a main factor when deciding whether or not to give production the green light. A racing version will also be taking on the Nurburgring 24 in June. However, judging by the language used in Aston's official press release, we get the feeling that production is all but certain.
