Andy RogersMay 01, 2011 Don't want to bother reading all these comments so I'll sum everything up: the Honda NSX was a wonderful car and if a new one was made as a hybrid it would be ruined. The end.
Patrick SchalkApr 30, 2011 I think you guys are talking about the CRX.
Anthony NoonApr 30, 2011 Yea they really did well with making the CRZ a hybrid! That's why they are making a strictly gas motor option. And the old CRZ gets better mpg they the new one.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Adding another engine means more weight. I woudnt like that
James MillerApr 29, 2011 its not just about fuel economy, but more torque, its adding another engine what's not to like.
Bilal SaeedApr 29, 2011 Screw hybrids! Find another way to save the planet! I like cars just the way they are!
James MillerApr 29, 2011 I'm with pablo, look at the new gt3 hybrid. Everyone just hears hybrid and thinks prius, in my moms camry hybrid it moves pretty good and it doesn't even seem like the motor is barely working, compared to a regular 4cyl working as hard as it can. Hybrid and electric are going to be the future in all type of cars, performance and efficient.
Luis A VillalpandoApr 29, 2011 "Fun to drive" and "environmentally friendly" don't go together unless the word "not" is between them.
Taylor AddisonApr 29, 2011 talking about a Prius here gents. The M35h is a great example. Plus by the time this is actually launched, who knows where battery tech will be?
As far as hydrogen, aside from having to be stored in a HIGHLY pressurized tank, I'm for it
Matt RobbinsApr 29, 2011 ... to make that power. It's very expensive to convert to e85 and in most cases it isn't worth it. E85 doesn't get as good as mpg as gas.
Matt RobbinsApr 29, 2011 E85 Ethanol burns cooler than regular 93 oct gasoline which allows it to make a little more power at lower rpms because you can be more aggressive with the timing and retardation. Only drawback is it requires 20-30% more E85 than gasoline to make...
Taylor AddisonApr 29, 2011 I'm with Pablo on this. Engine + Electric Motors will eventually become the norm. The Electric motors generate such enormous torque they can take load off the Engine, allowing it to more efficiently distribute power in the mid to high revs. We aren't
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 It takes more energy to make ethanol, than the same weight made can produce....
It is only being made to find a use for corn/drive the price up.
Do some research.
Kyle BohneApr 29, 2011 Gas has more energy cuz it takes a lil longer to burn than alcohol .. Alcohol waste all it's heat by the time the piston is like 60% on the power stroke
Zamiyaad KausmallyApr 29, 2011 Isn't ethanol more efficient than normal gas
Maybe that's one of the reason it's more expensive
Rueben J YslasApr 29, 2011 Pablo I agree wit everything ur sayin except
the electric motor
U remember the fact that if they keep costs down the electric motor will way a ton so all the torque jus made is offset by the weight of the motor
So basically u gotta rely on the engin
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Too bad oil isn't running out... The largest reserve was just found in America by the Canadian border.
Get your facts straight.
Drew Wa KleywegApr 29, 2011 pablo did anyone say crap about desiel? and were pissed the fact that they are turning a v10 monster into a little hybrid. its demeaning...
Grant PaquinApr 29, 2011 Immediately I think of how much a fail the crz is compared to the old crx. Why?
Buddy RobinsonApr 29, 2011 I dont want it to be a hybrid either, but it's the way we have to go, if we were not running out of oil and all was well, then you'd get your v10.
Danny AlvaradoApr 29, 2011 Type R!! :) My first dream car!
Dez O'ConnorApr 29, 2011 the old one was one of the best cars of its time
George RustApr 29, 2011 This view reminds me of Stealth/300GT.
Perry MuApr 29, 2011 Great news! If this car has 2+2 seat I will definitely buy one

Ken MadisonApr 30, 2011 You can get 30mpg if your going along in 6th at 1500-2000rpm.
As long as it's on a flat stretch.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Haha no it's not. It's ok dude. You're wrong but now you at least know that Vettes can get 30 mpgs on the highway.
Ori HavivApr 29, 2011 You can even drive over the speed limit and get good mpg. It's all about how your start and maintaining smooth acceleration
Ori HavivApr 29, 2011 I'm not talking about highway miles. And when I mean driving slow, I'm talking about starting slow and stopping acceleration way before a red light
Matt RobbinsApr 29, 2011 .. 1800 - 2200 rpm it can pull just about any hill without changing gears. It's amazing that the LS1 in the Vettes can get such good mpg but they can.
Matt RobbinsApr 29, 2011 My 01 6spd coupe can get as high as 34mpg if I REALLY baby it and drive like a trucker. Just driving on the highway, not worrying about mpg, will net 29-31 mpg. It's geared just perfect for this and has so much low end torque that in 6th gear at..
Vincent ButlerApr 29, 2011 Patrick the speed limit is 110mph when I drive. Lol
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Ori I'm sorry you can't come to terms with reality and are still not taking my advice.
And no that's going 65-70. The speed limit.
Ori HavivApr 29, 2011 I would like to see someone actually achieving 30 mpg. The drive would be so slow and boring. You probably start going 2 mph.
Nick SingletonApr 29, 2011 The C6 does get 30 on the highway. Both manual and auto are 6 speeds
Ori HavivApr 29, 2011 Yea I really doubt that any vette can get 30 mpg. I'm not hating on vettes. I love the new ones but I don't see that happening
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Well do yourself a favor and look at some Vette forums and people who actually own Vettes and can attest to it. Read up bud.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 And look at some forums for people who own Vettes.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Dude look it up. My fiances mom has a C6 and they do get that. Don't be mad because Vettes can get good mpgs and whoop some arse
Ori HavivApr 29, 2011 Yea the drive is a lot different. They're a lot of cars that have different hp but same size engines. @patrick I want you to find me a vette that does 30 mpg because that's hard to believe.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 You guys are just posting hp numbers? What does that have to do with performance? What happened to growing brains?
James MillerApr 29, 2011 To me it doesn't matter what size engine a car has or if its a hybrid, what does matter is how it actually performs.
2000 4.0l v6 mustang ~196hp
2000 3.2l v6 TL ~240hp
I know the mustang has torque but that is still pretty sad.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Well I'd like to put a procharger or magnusson on it so it'd be around 600 after that. But about 480-490 NA. Gonna be sweet!
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 So you'll end up with a 6.6l??? What do you think your numbers will be???
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Yeah I'm gonna get a 408 stroker kit for my FRC C5 I'm gonna have and use an iron 6.0 block (LQ9). A lot of guys who have the f bodies do the 383 stroker kits.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Yep. It's awesome. Full suspension and exhaust. It's a really fun car. I loved that era of cars
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 My buddy used to have a Camaro with a ls1 an he ended up outing a striker kit or whatever on it and the displacement went up quite a bit.
Great car.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Yeah I think the C5s had like 2.43 gears or something low like that. Plus they are light and aerodynamic. My old ass Z28 gets like 25-26 mpgs
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Huh. Never knew that. I guess they could sacrifice some of that fuel economy for performance???
Nick MorellaApr 29, 2011 Part of the vette's great mileage is it's gearing. But the LS is still a very efficient motor which is also quite compact for a V8. Even the 4th gen camaro's and firebirds were rated at 25mpg back on the day.
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 But Pablo, I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but I would actually like to know.
They run relatively high compression in the LS6/3, and have everything going balls to the wall, but still get 26-8 mpg
Anyone know?
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Regardless.... Don't put batteries and that jazz In a car like this, even though I would never get one.
It means the cars I like could end up with batteries some day!
Ray LockhartApr 29, 2011 I've never been a fan of Honda but the Nsx is an outstanding car, and when I read a hybrid version? Come on you are really going to do that to it, please don't.
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Patrick is right.
It's odd how the LS series makes better fuel economy than most 6 bangers
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Well either way I'd rather have a Vette that gets 30mpgs than a hybrid that gets? And I'll still be able to spank that a**.
Zamiyaad KausmallyApr 29, 2011 @Patrick true maybe we would be the last countries making real men muscle cars on the planet in like 10 years while the others would be making electric cars
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 270hp from a supposed SC V6? Pretty crappy.
Victor RochaApr 29, 2011 Nnnoooo y mess up something good...
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Well I have more reason to like American muscle/pony cars now. Least they aren't dumb enough to make a hybrid sports car. They just make those big screaming V8s somewhat fuel efficient.
Blaise StevensenApr 29, 2011 Remember the good old days when Japanese sport cars had twin turbos and/or high performance six cylinders? Good times...
Daniel HernandezApr 29, 2011 I hope they dont mess this up, keep the hp as is or boost it, hybrids and sports car dont mix too well :/
Andrew BlockerApr 29, 2011 Please don't make a fancy crz...make an NSX!!
Michael NembhardMay 01, 2011 WTF? I thought they had redesigned it and was planing on production until it was nixed.
Michael NembhardMay 01, 2011 You are right, this is the old discontinued Acura NSX.
Tim MaherApr 30, 2011 I hope everyone means the C5 looks like this car. This isn't the new model, it's the old one and I pretty sure it came out before the C5.
Jorge MartinsApr 30, 2011 This looks alot better. vv
Ivan MorganApr 30, 2011 The corvette (c5) looks like this car, i guess imitation is the best flattery.
Payne Hodges WilsonApr 30, 2011 It could just be me but I always thought this car looked a bit like a Ferrari with a little corvette and 3000gt mixed in which i think makes or an awesome car they could make it right now identical to the originals and I would buy one instantly
Jeriot DowlandApr 29, 2011 Now that you mention it, from the side it totally does lol
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 I didn't know if anyone else would see that either haha.
I saw that orange one and thought of my friends orange vette,
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Haha they do look A LOT like the C5
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Revolutionary is design? The side view looks like a C5 corvette.
Sebastian GreyApr 29, 2011 I never liked the looks of these cars but I can't deny they were revolutionary.
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 There is a lot of C5 in this.... Which isn't bad. Look at the over all shape, not details.
Carlie GeorgeMay 02, 2011 Honda sells hybrids they lose money on type r's with hondas you have to do things yourself ...swap them out have fun ...then swap them again
Ethan CoreApr 30, 2011 @ Matt they were originally hondas they got rebadged for the us
Mike HawkMay 01, 2011 Holy moses...the Powerthirst ads were awesome!! Where can I get some!
"find a new god"
Tim MaherApr 30, 2011 Depend on the tune of the flat 6. I've seen a lot of 6's destroy other cars. Hell my buddy had a wrx (boxer 4) that ate a vipers lunch.
Mike HawkApr 30, 2011 Exactly. What happens when a flat6 takes on a v10?
Patrick SchalkApr 30, 2011 Soooo what happens when a "sports car" can outperform a "supercar"?
Sebastian GreyApr 30, 2011 @Mike, Powerthirst has that covered.
Tom FranquelliApr 30, 2011 The GTR and LFA turned me, I used to hate Jap cars so much. This better be amazing to keep up, which it won't be, as even the original NSX wasn't all that great.
Mike HawkApr 29, 2011 Nice one, rich. "hypercar" makes me think of a car fueled on redbull and crystal meth
Mike HawkApr 29, 2011 Hell...if I could travel back in time and kill the douchebag responsible for coining the term "supercar"
I'd do it in a heartbeat before the word ever gets around
Mike HawkApr 29, 2011 Presently, the comparison to question is
Sportscar or racecar?
I just think that would be more appropriate
Mike HawkApr 29, 2011 Supercar vs sports car? Thats just all diluted now. We've got V6s & flat6's keeping up with v10s.
It's like we're going back to the 1960's & 70's, where the term "supercar" didn't exist.
It's a yuppie term IMO.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 That video of that guy doing the Nurburgring is absolutely insane too. The in dash camera makes you poop your pants
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Either way, the GTR, Z06, Viper and ZR1 are the most bang for your buck in super cars. And yes, Z06 is a super car. On everything except price.
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 I think you were getting at the GTR is more drivable, the ZR1 is more race-able in professional hands.
I read that Jim mero guy who did the nurburgring lap in the ZR1 is just a GM engineer, or not even a corvette race team driver or something.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 Of a small block V8 and a six speed. They are so fun and cheap. And it's terms of bang for your buck nothing matches it
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 I like American muscle cars the most because I can afford them. The fast German cars are boring to me' and I can't afford anything Italian. The Asian stuff is ok. I like the Supra, 350/370Z, Evos and STis. But nothing matches the raw power and sound
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 Every professional review I have seen says the GTR is better for normal people....
But a truly professional driver will make better times on most tracks with the ZR1.
If you've driven a corvette, it's hard to control. But the results when you do!
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 the GTR is right there at the top of the list at bang for your buck value....
But in the hands of a professional driver, the ZR1 will win.
Patrick SchalkApr 29, 2011 I respect the LFA but the money it took to research, build, and what it cost does not reflect it's performance figures. I'll take the GTR or a ZR1.
Ken MadisonApr 29, 2011 The GTR is too boxy.
And the LFA is a GT/ZR1 competitor.... That costs $400,000
Zamiyaad KausmallyApr 29, 2011 The R35 kinda have the looks of a supercar, it got the performance of one but not as expensive
And thats the good thing about it
Mike BottéApr 29, 2011 Gtr is more of a supercar then most. And in a test result the gtr beat the Lexus lfa like from stop but at the end it slipped passed the gtr, but then take the price and gtr just won completely. It's a supercar.

Haha figures. Good job Honda. Way to cut the balls off of a legend.
Hybrids + sport car= bullshit Sport car= big engine Hybrids = tree hugers ..... People who don't want to waste gas
I would love seeing this except if its actually true and a hybrid I will be ashamed
Hybrids and sport cars don't mix. I wish car companies would stop trying to make it work.
Please dont ruin the nsx!!!
