You can get 30mpg if your going along in 6th at 1500-2000rpm. As long as it's on a flat stretch.
Haha no it's not. It's ok dude. You're wrong but now you at least know that Vettes can get 30 mpgs on the highway.
You can even drive over the speed limit and get good mpg. It's all about how your start and maintaining smooth acceleration
I'm not talking about highway miles. And when I mean driving slow, I'm talking about starting slow and stopping acceleration way before a red light
.. 1800 - 2200 rpm it can pull just about any hill without changing gears. It's amazing that the LS1 in the Vettes can get such good mpg but they can.
My 01 6spd coupe can get as high as 34mpg if I REALLY baby it and drive like a trucker. Just driving on the highway, not worrying about mpg, will net 29-31 mpg. It's geared just perfect for this and has so much low end torque that in 6th gear at..

To me it doesn't matter what size engine a car has or if its a hybrid, what does matter is how it actually performs. 2000 4.0l v6 mustang ~196hp 2000 3.2l v6 TL ~240hp I know the mustang has torque but that is still pretty sad.

Yeah I'm gonna get a 408 stroker kit for my FRC C5 I'm gonna have and use an iron 6.0 block (LQ9). A lot of guys who have the f bodies do the 383 stroker kits.

My buddy used to have a Camaro with a ls1 an he ended up outing a striker kit or whatever on it and the displacement went up quite a bit. Great car.
Yeah I think the C5s had like 2.43 gears or something low like that. Plus they are light and aerodynamic. My old ass Z28 gets like 25-26 mpgs

Part of the vette's great mileage is it's gearing. But the LS is still a very efficient motor which is also quite compact for a V8. Even the 4th gen camaro's and firebirds were rated at 25mpg back on the day.
But Pablo, I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not, but I would actually like to know. They run relatively high compression in the LS6/3, and have everything going balls to the wall, but still get 26-8 mpg Anyone know?

Well I have more reason to like American muscle/pony cars now. Least they aren't dumb enough to make a hybrid sports car. They just make those big screaming V8s somewhat fuel efficient.

Depend on the tune of the flat 6. I've seen a lot of 6's destroy other cars. Hell my buddy had a wrx (boxer 4) that ate a vipers lunch.
The GTR and LFA turned me, I used to hate Jap cars so much. This better be amazing to keep up, which it won't be, as even the original NSX wasn't all that great.

Either way, the GTR, Z06, Viper and ZR1 are the most bang for your buck in super cars. And yes, Z06 is a super car. On everything except price.
I think you were getting at the GTR is more drivable, the ZR1 is more race-able in professional hands. I read that Jim mero guy who did the nurburgring lap in the ZR1 is just a GM engineer, or not even a corvette race team driver or something.
Of a small block V8 and a six speed. They are so fun and cheap. And it's terms of bang for your buck nothing matches it
I like American muscle cars the most because I can afford them. The fast German cars are boring to me' and I can't afford anything Italian. The Asian stuff is ok. I like the Supra, 350/370Z, Evos and STis. But nothing matches the raw power and sound
Every professional review I have seen says the GTR is better for normal people.... But a truly professional driver will make better times on most tracks with the ZR1. If you've driven a corvette, it's hard to control. But the results when you do!
the GTR is right there at the top of the list at bang for your buck value.... But in the hands of a professional driver, the ZR1 will win.
I respect the LFA but the money it took to research, build, and what it cost does not reflect it's performance figures. I'll take the GTR or a ZR1.

Gtr is more of a supercar then most. And in a test result the gtr beat the Lexus lfa like from stop but at the end it slipped passed the gtr, but then take the price and gtr just won completely. It's a supercar.

I'm with pablo, look at the new gt3 hybrid. Everyone just hears hybrid and thinks prius, in my moms camry hybrid it moves pretty good and it doesn't even seem like the motor is barely working, compared to a regular 4cyl working as hard as it can. Hybrid and electric are going to be the future in all type of cars, performance and efficient.

E85 Ethanol burns cooler than regular 93 oct gasoline which allows it to make a little more power at lower rpms because you can be more aggressive with the timing and retardation. Only drawback is it requires 20-30% more E85 than gasoline to make...

It takes more energy to make ethanol, than the same weight made can produce.... It is only being made to find a use for corn/drive the price up. Do some research.
Gas has more energy cuz it takes a lil longer to burn than alcohol .. Alcohol waste all it's heat by the time the piston is like 60% on the power stroke
