Geneva 2011: BMW 120d Hatchback with Performance Parts

Although the current generation BMW 1 Series is nearly seven years old, the German automaker is still showcasing the performance add-on possibilities with the car at this year's Geneva Motor Show. Using a 120d hatchback painted in Alpine White, BMW has outfitted the show car with various carbon fiber components and stripes. Up front it receives a blacked-out kidney grille, a more aggressive front apron and carbon fiber caps on each of the side mirrors. There's a new rear bumper and rear wing made from carbon.

The interior boasts bucket seats, a sports steering wheel with Alcantara trim and on-wheel LCD display. There's also plenty of carbon fiber parts throughout. BMW also added a holder for an iPhone which can be used to download the Application link to the BMW infotainment system. In other words, this App can be used as an alternative to the typical and expensive navigation system. No word yet on whether the next generation 1 Series will feature a hatchback for the U.S. market. Photos courtesy of BimmerToday.
