Geneva 2011: Toyota Yaris HSD Concept

In addition to the FT-86, Toyota has revealed today its Yaris HSD Concept at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The Yaris concept reflects Toyota's new styling philosophy for the Fiesta-rivaling hatchback. We can see that the designed to be simpler in appearance and to appeal to a new range of customers. The concept also features some new 18-inch alloy wheels, a slab-side rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser, and an integrated rear spoiler.

The Yaris HSD shown at the show included a solar-paneled roof to power the air-conditioner, streamlined door handles and door mirrors with build-in cameras. Further details about the concept, including technical details, will be released later on, but it's likely that the Yaris will use either a 1.3- or 1.5-liter gasoline engines in conjunction with an electric motor. The production car is due to go on sale in late 2012.
