Being able to take off from a complete stop in fifth gear?!! Why would you want to do that? That would be very hard on the bottom end of the engine, and you would have very little torque.

I can promise you that if I put a AP in your hand with an untuned turbo applicated vehicle you would have no idea how to get it running(calibrating the MAF/AF ratio, spark tables, load max % etc) let alone understand the importance of charge temps..

The base cost is just under 20k and you can get almost all your parts from a C5 minus a transaxle from porsche but even that you can get cheaper if you dont get the one from the gt3rs. It wound not be nearly as fast as this one and you would do alot

Shows how credible you are, as Patrick put it. Factory Five doesn't sell pre-assembled cars from their factory for any price. And my 14 year old cousin is a rap superstar who's also a F1 driver in his spare time. Funny how that works.

So I buy a kit for $20K and then what Ryan? I just can't build it right away like you think. Gotta have a donor Vette and 911 too. A G50 doesn't come cheap. The kit also doesn't include CV joints, a complete fuel system, a clutch assembly, suspension components, exhaust manifolds, and engine computers. Know anything about that? I doubt it very much.

By-the-way, most of Factory Five's kit support Ford parts and motors. All of them can us an LS motor, but the vast majority of builders prefer old-style pushrod Fords. A few will use the new MOD motors, but even fewer use the LS...with the exception of the GTM. It only uses the LS.
They don't use GM parts because they're cheaper than Ford's. They use them because the GTM is designed to be based on a Corvette donor. The GTM use as many C-5 Corvette parts as possible to keep the cost down and simplify the build. It's better to get all you need from one car rather than piece together something from multiple cars.
They use GM parts over Ford cause there cheap. It's the same reason so many people use a 350 when building a ford hotrod
I have a brochure for one of these, they're pretty fast, and if you chose to build it yourself, pretty cheep too.
The modded Ford is what makes the FFR roadster...not the GTM -.- big difference. Anyways, most kit cars are built with GM parts. who wouldn't want any LS series motor roaring behind your head?? Haha

These guys are in my hometown in Wareham MA, you always see the cobra replicas rolling around town. A guy I went to high school with works there too. Weird seeing them on here lol
