For the ultimate Back to the Future fan, it's finally time to spend your weekly allowance for doing your chores that you've saved all these years.
For any fan of the ‘Back to the Future' trilogy, I think it's fair to say there's a little bit of DeLorean love in us all. Never known for its performance, the DeLorean has rightly earned its place in automotive and film history. While Doc Brown was able to modify one for things such as a hover conversion and a Mr. Fusion, time travel became its specialty. And now it's possible for someone with the means to own one of the three surviving film models.
Heading to the Profiles in History auction block as part of the Icons of Hollywood auction, the film car from Back to the Future Part III is expecting to bring in a winning bid anywhere from $400,000 to $600,000. This particular DeLorean was used for the 1955 drive-in movie scene as Marty McFly was traveling back to 1885. In fact, the car was modified by the filmmakers specifically for off-road use - something that would significantly help Marty while being chased by Indians that, according to Doc, shouldn't even have been there.
Other Back to the Future items will also be auctioned off such as those 2015 Nike shoes (sorry, the power laces don't really work), Marty's 2015 jacket and hoverboard, one of Doc's shirts, Biff's jacket from the second film, and futuristic Pepsi and Slice soda bottles. All told, there'll be over 100 items available to buy from the films. Part of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
