New Lexus IS Rendering Points At Evolution

The new model is expected next year with speculation on a hybrid version.

Lexus is preparing to launch the next generation IS model next year. Japanese magazine Best Cars has published a few renderings of the renewed model. In the four renderings, that we came across on lexsusenthusiast.com, are of a 4-door sedan, a coupe, a convertible and a station wagon. Two engines are listed in the accompanied spec sheet for the hybrid 350h variant, a 5.0-liter 460 hp engine and a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter 160 hp engine.

That is a bizarre choice since now the basic IS model comes with a V6 204hp. Judging by these renderings, the grille of the new IS will be more dominant than the current one, though overall, the car will maintain its conservative design language.
