1971 Corvette Stingray for Sale at Bonhams Auction

When a Stingray is at an auction it is always worth attention.

The story of the Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most famous and intriguing stories in automotive history. This, however, is not the place to tell it, particularly when you look at this great, beautiful blue 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with its 7.4-liter engine. It was the last edition of that 365hp unit before it was decreased the following year to 265hp, thanks to new environmental regulations. This car is a convertible version with a hard-top roof and if you look at its tires, you might think it is a racing car.

According to Bonhams Sales catalog (the car will be on sale in the December 1st auction at Brooklands, UK) the car has a 'big block' V8 engine and it is equipped with all the original optional equipment of the time, including factory hardtop, air-conditioning, tinted glass and electric windows. Not bad for a 1971 model. It also covered only about 45,000 km so the tear and wear rate shouldn't be too high. Additionally in 2005, it was fully restored by one of the most respected British Corvette restorers. Asking price for the 1971 Corvette Stingray is $63,000.
