Crown Victorias are better, rear wheel drive more durable and easier traditional to maintain.
Ken Madison Nov 13, 2011
All of this in a city with a crime rate of almost 0. It has just always flustered me to no end.
Ken Madison Nov 13, 2011
Around $1,200,000 a year, and they have a police force of something like 8-9 officers, each with an 870, M4, and the latest 4th gen Glock. With expensive 3 inch non lethal ammo, frangible 5.56 , and top shelf HPs in obscure expensive calibers.
Ken Madison Nov 13, 2011
The problem was, we never got it. We were using magazines from god knows when. They were worn shiny, had horrid followers, and sketchy springs. I guess my view of PDs is warped by the one where I live. They get half my small towns budget.
Chris Parrott Nov 13, 2011
Wow Ken, I wish my department was like what you thought. Our cars usually have to last us to 15000 miles (Not easy miles). The only ammo I see is when we qualify other than what I carry on my belt and my patrol rifle looks like it is used surplus from the Vietnam Era. No we dont need new technology because we can adapt but like any job it does make it nicer. Im sure you didnt mind getting new equi...
Michael Gallagher Nov 12, 2011
Your right mackenzie, and we can stick all the bad man in the back of our mustangs and challengers. Because they are four door sedans with easy to get to back seats
Mackenzi Kelly Nov 12, 2011
I personally think they should give the cops Mustang GTs or Chargers. Why because those cars are faster than these kinda cars!
Shane Carroll Nov 12, 2011
The flow of cash is pretty screwed. My brother in law quit because he worked there for 3 years with no gain, the week after he walked they ordered 2 brand new Chargers
Ken Madison Nov 12, 2011
Do you know what happens in the military if you ask for a new barrel for your shot out M4??? It costs $50 and they tell you to piss off..... I wish we could have blown most like the police do...
Ken Madison Nov 12, 2011
Because this is the time to buy NEW stuff for the police? It's not enough that they buy the most expensive ammunition and military style weapons and armor.... Now they 'need' NEW cars with GPS, satellite Internet, and ipads.
Callum Mckay Nov 12, 2011
Typo, shoulda been: said the Ford president of The Americas, Mark.....
Chris Parrott Nov 13, 2011
The crown vic was an iconic car but really had started showing its age, the Impalas and especially Chargers were better at handling and top speed. The new Interceptor should help that. And you guys are right, Speed usually dosent stop the pursuit, Its usually a lack of driving skill on the suspects part. Normally you just have to keep him in sight and he will screw up. Hopefully not hurting anyone...
Tucker Grimley Nov 12, 2011
I do know that speed doesn't always catch the "bad guys" but I think that this Taurus sho pi will be better than the crown vics, with all wheel drive and decent acceleration, just a better overall tool
Phillip Greene Nov 12, 2011
Yea im sure they have not every body runs
Jonathan Romero Nov 12, 2011
The intercepter looks mean, but just cuz I own a dodge charger R/T Daytona, I got to go with the dodge intercepter instead >:)...
Phillip Greene Nov 12, 2011
Haha u guys are funny its still a ford and u still wont catch a vett
Shane Carroll Nov 12, 2011
It doesn't matter how fast you are, you can't outrun a radio
Zack Stotler Nov 12, 2011
The tires on the explorer look a little small
Shane Heid Nov 12, 2011
Not many people got away when crown Vics were chasin them, coordination not speed catches the bad guys. Still they look nicer than the vics
Tucker Grimley Nov 12, 2011
Not many people are gonna get away with a twin turbo Taurus sho chasing them
Bryan Garza Nov 12, 2011
That Taurus looks pretty mean...good!
Mark Anderson Nov 12, 2011
the taurus looks great but the headlights on the explorer are a bit...dinky
Paul Lissona Dec 05, 2011
Yah I think it's stupid, the majority of police departments or officers rather have a crown Victoria type of car. Who asked for this?
Bob Jones Nov 15, 2011
Edward I happen to be a cop and watch the language to my 8 year old son loves this sight!!!
Greg Lewis Nov 14, 2011
Fwd are not choice of law enforcement. And awd will be too expensive for departments to buy/maintain. The charger will become choice for a lot of agencies, or the new caprice. Ford screwed up. And Tahoe is suv choice for most already.
Blake Mankin Nov 13, 2011
I agree with Edward however it is not all cops that act like that.
Michael Gallagher Nov 13, 2011
Money. I'm glad for the police and they desereve a lot more for what they do. So kudos to them. And I hope they enjoy their rides
Michael Gallagher Nov 13, 2011
Edward is just a fag that has a lot of issues. I would rather have police around then thugs. It my bike stollen yesterday. Know it wasn't some officer. It was some piece of shit worthless scumbag that doesn't have a job so he clips bikes to make
Miguel Blanco Nov 13, 2011
@Edward The police don't act like that where I live
Edward Rios Nov 13, 2011
County tax money wasted so cops can drive around like batman. If it were up to me they'd still be driving 1978 caprices and they better like it.
Edward Rios Nov 13, 2011
Wake up and smell the fear these police machines will instill in your hearts as you get pulled over for going 5 mph over the speed limit. Or forbid you have a tail light out and you get pulled over by 3 of these things. Ooooh, we're such criminals!!!
Dexter Cordero Nov 12, 2011
I'm sure the only departments gonna run cars like these are the DARE programs.
Tomas Franquelli Nov 12, 2011
Looks awesome, but that Taurus has huge shoes to fill. The Crown Vic was iconic.
Chris Penza Nov 12, 2011
Another hot pursuit cop car
Trevor Brown Nov 12, 2011
Yeah it looks great, I wonder if it'll be RWD
Brad Wood Nov 12, 2011
Who knew a new cop car would be a recruiting tool
Jesse Harp Nov 12, 2011
The Taurus looks sweet. I'd become a cop for one of those.
Jonathan Romero Nov 12, 2011
Cop cars are looking more intimadathing now lol, even though I got a bad history with the 5-0, this is making want to be a cop LOL.. This intercepters look harcore >:)
Michael Gallagher Nov 13, 2011
Taurus is awsome. I wish I had a Taurus. My family use to have an ancient one that we got for a grand at a police auction. It was our winter car and it was oodles of fun.
Rob Cruickshank Nov 12, 2011
Uk cop cars are crap! We have volvo's and vahxhalls. But America have waay better cars! :)
Kris Favole Nov 13, 2011
The new generation of Explorers are not built on a truck chassis.
Nick Benz Nov 12, 2011
The explorer is a damn suv, its built on a truck chassis. Jesus
Bryan Bohling Nov 12, 2011
The explorer is a suv
Robby Bradford Nov 12, 2011
Not gonna sell well... maybe if it was an SUV it would, but a crossover? Not so much
