Revealed: The Ginetta G60

Ginetta has released their G60, the flagship model of their lineup.

On the heels of yesterday's teaser photo, Ginetta has revealed their brand-new range-topping G60 sports car. The gorgeous little compact was built for performance and was designed to shed as much weight as possible. The modern day carbon fiber Farbio GTS (whose rights the British automaker purchased earlier this year) features a mid-engine setup. The G60 runs a 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine that can put out 310hp. They are also offering an optional supercharged GTS 400 version that pumps out a pretty powerful 410hp.

The engine is coupled with a Ford six-speed transmission that sends power to the rear wheels by way of a Quaife LSD. To save weight, the Brit's stripped the flagship of all its electrical accoutrements. That means no power steering or ABS. In all, the total weight loss on the G60 is measured at 880lbs for a total curb weight of only 2,425lbs. The GTS version, with the added power and lower weight, can hit 60mph from rest in less than 4 seconds and can hit a top speed of over 165mph. The Ginetta G60 prices at £68,000. The last mid-engined offering from Ginetta came all the way back in 1989 with their G32, based on the Escort.
