SEMA 2011: Power Operated Soft Tops Revealed for Jeep Wrangler

Two aftermarket firms have developed power-operated convertible tops for the JK Wrangler in time for SEMA 2011.
At next week's SEMA Show, in addition to project cars and new concepts, aftermarket firms will debut a host of new vehicle components and accessories. Two such firms are RuggedRidge and Roadwire who are set to launch their new power operated convertible tops for the JK Wrangler at SEMA 2011. The "Power Kit," by RuggedRidge fits all 4-door Wrangler JK models from the 2007-2012MY, and comes complete with sailcloth vinyl top, power top frame, wiring harness and installation packet.

An electric-operated top for the 2-door Wrangler is being planned for 2012.
RoadWire's "myTop", however, will be ready for nationwide delivery by year end, and the Texas-based company informs that their kit includes Haartz Stayfast fabric and "a sturdy, but light-weight aircraft-grade aluminum frame, as well as motors constructed to the same specifications as F-14 fighter jet canopies."
