It seems Pininfarina over extended themselves by trying to build their own cars.
Starting up a new car manufacturing company is never an easy thing to do. Pininfarina has now demonstrated just how difficult it can be, even for a company with decades of experience in design work for other companies. A total of 127 employees will be laid off, at a cost to Pininfarina of roughly $4million. The BlueCar EV, a concept which represents a collaboration between Pininfarina and the French billionaire Vincent Bollore, now has a unsure future. We'll just have to wait and see.
