Ah yes, the Aston Martin everyone is looking forward to. The upcoming Toyota iQ-based city car, the Cygnet, will feature two special launch editions to be called - get ready for it - the White and Black. Going on sale this April in a limited production run, both will be offered with the iQ's 1.33-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 98 hp. Either a standard six-speed manual or an optional CVT automated transmission will be available.
The manual gearbox helps propel the Cygnet to a 0-62 mph time of 11.6 seconds with an estimated 56.5 mpg UK fuel economy (47 mpg US). The White edition is finished in Snow White paint with a mix of silver mesh, chrome bright work, and White Diamond turned alloy wheels. Inside features hand trimmed Pearl white leather with Alcantara inserts. The Black edition has a Magic Black metallic paint with a specially developed sea green effect. With seats and a dash in pure black full grain leather, perforated in unique diamond pattern, you'll be the envy of all Toyota iQ owners everywhere.
Really, nobody else will care. Both editions come with a tailor made Bill Amberg five-piece luggage set that includes a glove box bag, removable door pocket bag, holdall, garment bag, and a collapsible tote bag. The Cygnet is expected to start at £30,995 (US $49,000/€36,700), which is £19,000 ($30,800/€22,500) more than the base Toyota iQ.
