Spied: Jaguar XF 2.2 TD Facelift

Jaguar has been in the prototype testing phase of its facelifted 2011 XF so some time now. The XF in question is packing the Ford derived 2.2-liter turbo-diesel already in use in small Land Rovers, but it's become clear that there's reprioritizing going on in the company. Turns out that the 20000cc diesel engine is by far the most popular seller in the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class ranges, so the XF should fare well with it.

Judging from the remaining disguise on the XF prototype, it's suggested that the facelift will concentrate on the front and rear ends of the 2011. It also appears that the bulbous headlamps of the original XF have been tossed out in favor for a sleeker, narrower lens closer to the design of the original C-XF concept and the new XJ. Inside, the camo across the dashboard suggests that the interior will also receive an upgrade, but there's no other detail available on what exactly has been changed.
