2011 GMC Savana Passenger Van

The GMC Savana passenger van, the mechanical twin of the Chevrolet Express, is one of the most common full-size vans on the market used in everything from small businesses to police departments. The 2011 GMC Savana comes in two styles, regular wheelbase and extended wheelbase. The former is available in half ton and 1 ton bodies, while the latter is available in 1 ton bodies. There are also two versions of the Savana available, the LS and LT.

The LS is powered by a 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes 335 horsepower. The LT is equipped with a 6.0-liter V8 that makes 300 horsepower. The exterior remains unchanged and the interior is the same sparsely designed cabin that we've come to appreciate. Most importantly, the Savana is designed to be an able bodied cargo hauler. It has a 60/40 split door on the driver's side, a feature that is much liked and makes it easy to grab small items. The higher model of the van is equipped with heating and air conditioning for the back rows, and keyless entry.

Safety has improved slightly on the 2011 GMC Savana. The Van is now equipped with anti-lock brakes, and a sensor that disables the front seat air bag automatically. Its most significant competition is the full-size Ford Econoline and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
