RM Auctions has announced their plans to offer a 1949 Ferrari 166MM Touring Barchetta at their Biltmore event in Arizona this January 21st.

The car was originally commissioned for the 1949 Paris Motor Show and this roadster is one of 25 models to feature Barchetta coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, Italy.

The car up for auction was the vehicle that won the 1950 Mar del Plata and competed in the 1951 Mille Miglia. It's powered by a 2.0-liter V12 engine with an estimated 140 hp and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It can supposedly hit 100 mph in approximately 27 seconds. Still interested? The auctioneer is expecting the car to sell for more than $2 million. For the serious car collector, a Ferrari such as this will only increase in value over time. Happy bidding.
