Spied: Mercedes C-Class Coupe

Thanks to AutoCar UK, new spy photos have emerged of a nearly undisguised prototype of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. Set to debut next month at the Detroit Auto Show, the coupe will appear with the facelifted C-Class sedan and will feature styling changes such as new headlamps, a more contoured bonnet, and a refined bumper. Overall, the new design will take many cues from the new E-Class lineup.

More importantly, however, is news that the new coupe will replace both the CLK and the CLC, which is a small hatchback that just received an update itself. Unlike the E-Class coupe, the updated C-Class will not be offered as a convertible. Specific engine options are still unclear, but it's reasonable to expect the coupe to offer the same choices as the sedan. A diesel is also available in Europe, but don't expect that to be in the North American lineup. The most exciting news here is that the coupe will have an C63 AMG version to compete against the BMW M3.
