Video: Ferrari President Drives the New Stratos

Let's face it: being president of Ferrari has its perks. Lots of them. And Luca di Montezemolo is also one hell of a driver. He recently had a chance to drive the reborn Lancia Stratos around the Fiorano race track in Italy and has proven that he knows how to handle a supercar. With a lead foot, di Montezemolo is probably one of the few auto execs in the world who can not only drive a supercar, but will also give praise to one not built by his own company.

The Stratos does have a Ferrari 4.3-liter V8 from the F430 Scuderia under the hood, so di Montezemolo had an idea of what to expect. Still, you can easily see how impressed he was with the reborn Italian rally racer.

Set for a very limited production run, the new Stratos was built in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the original model. In addition to the Ferrari engine, the car has body panels constructed of carbon fiber, but other details such as interior specs have yet to be disclosed.
