Rumors: Speculation Around Mini Moke/Beachcomber/Canyon Coupe Models

Thanks to BMW's revival of the Mini, we now have a brand that has evolved from offering one standard three-door hatchback, to a lineup that includes more. Mini now offers a convertible, the Clubman, and the Countryman crossover too. On top of that, Mini offers its vehicles in diesel, gasoline, supercharged, and JCW versions, and there are even more on the way.

Rumors is that there may be a coupe and seven-seat versions of the Countryman, along with production Speedster and Coupe models unveiled from last year. This would boost the total number of body-styles to eight! According to Autocar, there are reports that BMW is working on two parallel programs to put a Jeep Wrangler or Honda Element-style crossover into the mix too. One high-riding three-door is tentatively known as the Canyon Coupe, and is set to revive the Mini Moke beach car body style.

The other is something closer to the Beachcomber Concept that was unveiled about a year ago. It would have doors added, as well as removable roof panels, frameless doors and a wind-down rear window. So far we hear that only one will be given the green light. Let's see which one.
